Criteria selection is based upon overall analysis of high school grade point average, SAT/ACT scores, school and community activities, moral character, etc. A special merit scholarship will be awarded to an individual who has overcome personal adversities or exhibits unusual need, and demonstrated admirable gains in academic standings. Applicants must submit a completed application to Scholarship Committee Chairperson no later than February 1st of each year. Final selection is to be made and announced by The Illuminator Memorial Scholarship Committee no later than May 15 of each year. Once a recipient has been selected and has enrolled in an accredited college or university, the award will be deposited with the registrar of the college or university. The funds will be applied against the recipient’s expenses for tuition, fees, books, etc.
